Meditation: A Journey to Self-Healing

Meditation is often said to be a practice to help reconnect the mind-body and spirit.

Meditation has many different schools of teaching, each school has its own thoughts and techniques.

There are some meditative techniques that focus on a candle, or a certain object, reciting mantras or even breathing techniques.

Aside from the calming effect that it brings, meditation is used to release tension, stress, and anxiety.

There are many studies showing the relation between meditation and other concentration exercises with the performances of athletic and sports professionals.

Some health benefits include better circulation, a deeper level of relaxation, an increase in self-awareness, regularizing blood pressure, reduces anxiety attacks, and muscle tension.

With this concentration process, you get to listen to the inner self and separate from the pressures of daily life. Understanding the inner self would lead to an understanding of our higher selves. This would increase our knowledge and understanding of how the higher self unites with the universe. In meditation, you get the chance to tap into your inner self and get in touch with how it sees your life.

Getting in touch with the inner self will provide the guidance we need towards our happiness and fulfillment.

How can Meditation Help Us Heal Ourselves

Meditation is about developing the ability to tap into our inner voice.

A great way to start tuning into your inner voice is to set a clear intention before you begin to meditate.

For example, if you’ve been having trouble sleeping, write down everything you’ve been feeling, any questions, or even some things you want to accomplish. Write it all down.

Once you have cleared some of your thoughts, it’s time to set your intention for your meditation. Focusing on a positive outcome to your problem.

An example if you have trouble sleeping, you can set an intention:

“It is my intention to discover what I need for a good night’s sleep”.

By setting a specific intention will help you focus on a positive outcome, open up to receiving insights, and surrendering to the unknown, which is never an easy thing to do.

The goal is to observe what thoughts and emotions pop up, acknowledge them, and take them as messages from your inner self.

The more you relax your thoughts, the more messages you can receive.

If you don’t receive any clear insights on your first try, like any practice, don’t be discouraged! Like any skill, it takes time and practice. Once you do, it will change your life!

Remember: There is no right or wrong way to do this, the best way is what feels right to YOU!
